Fantastic Welder with Included Spool Gun
I bought this welder from Northern BEFORE Amazon started carrying it. Absolutiely fantastic value for MIG, TIG, Stick and TIG (With Optional Torch for about $80). Get the Tig torch and a bottle of Argon, for TIG (Argon is also used for MIG on Stainless and Aluminum). I loaded it with a 10lb spool of MIG wire, and can always put a 4" spool of Flux Cored, Stainless, or Aluminum in the spool gun if I need them. Outdoors, Stick is a better option for in the wind, as TIG will not hold the gas, and Stick gives you more penetration. Only issue is the Spool gun is only rated for 160W, so if you are welding aluminum, you will be limited in power. It realistically takes 200W to weld 1/4 aluminum, BUT you can get around this by preheating the Aluminum with a MAPP or Propane torch. Packaging and shipping is first class, as is the fit an finish of the construction. The gas hose is only 5' and kind of cheap, but works fine if you have the bottle on the welding cart.
