Alpine Ine-z928hd - Navigation System with DVD Player, LCD Monitor, Digital Player and Hd Radio - In-dash Random customer review :
Really Alpine? Really?
Well first off let me begin by saying that when I decided to upgrade my rapidly aging and outdated Pioneer AVH 4300DVD, an Alpine HU was the farthest thing from my mind. Not to mention the 1,400.00 price tag. However upon reading a few reviews and mulling it over I figured what the heck, you only live once. To start with this HU is a beast, very large display being a full inch bigger than my previous HU,and as we all know, size does matter. Very good DVD picture, sounds better than my old Pioneer, tons of features. However, there are a few places where IMHO Alpine dropped the ball. First off, very little customization of the display itself, you get about 5 colors to choose from and there's no changing the push buttons along the bottom edge of the unit. Not a deal breaker but at this price those kinds of things are kind of expected. No background displays available to snazz up the look you're stuck with a plain background. Again not a deal breaker, but really? Doesn't seem to like my sd card...
