Fine portable generator
I just received this machine this week, coincidentally just in time for Hurricane Sandy. (Sorry Amazon, I broke with habit and bought it elsewhere.)
All components came well packaged. The finish and build are excellent and sturdy. Set up was painless, consisting of bolting on the wheel axle, two handles, two foot brackets, clipping on two wheels, connecting the battery, filling the oil (included), and fueling.
The battery came with plenty of charge to crank the motor. [Note: The generator does not directly charge the cranking battery. Keep it charged w/ the included 'wall-wart' charger. The op manual explains this.] It fired up as soon as oil pressure was detected. After letting it run for a few minutes I checked for power output, which was fine. After letting it cool down I tried the pull start to make sure that starting method would work, which it did on the first pull. All generators require an earth ground, so a shortcut there to save time is seriously not...
