A bit slow on the startup, but good once going
I was initially worried when I got the "red light of death" indicator light(analogous to the PC "blue screen of death") on this product new out of the box when replacing an older dying inverter. I had to return it to Outback, ostensibly to have it reset to default values. It is good to know that the Outback representatives were very cooperative, and it did not cost me anything other than some annoyance and time to have it shipped back and forth. So far, I have had no additional difficulties with it after the return. Buyers should be aware that it is at best difficult to diagnose, and almost impossible to fix, any problems with this instrument or its settings unless you also purchase the associated Outback Mate (for another $200+). I had hoped to delay this addition until I had a grid to tie into another year or so down the line, but with the initial problem, I bit the bullet, and would recommend that others who purchase this line of inverters buy the Mate with it.
