Solid machine...
I might have done something stupid when I purchased this welder. That is, I purchased it (USED!) without even testing the machine. Plus, I did not know how to weld - so you could say I bought this machine blind. For years I had read books and watched videos on how to weld, but this was my first "investment." I paid ~$1800 in 2010 WITH a 125cf tank of argon, regulator, cart and consumables. I still feel I overpaid for 1-2 year old machine, but I had a job waiting and didnt have time to mess around.

As you would expect from a transformer-based machine, it is heavy! As others have stated, this is not an inverter machine, so dont expect it to be something you can transport easily. Fact is, these transformer based machines are designed to be RELIABLE. This was something I felt was very valuable to me, not only because I buy most of my tools second-hand but, I also like to buy things that can be easily and inexpensively serviced/repaired.
