Significant Quality Control Issues!
Having purchased this item I am very dissapointed in BAK's quality control. After spending about two hours removing the packaging and assembling the cover I discovered multiple QC problems and in the end the cover had to be repackaged and returned. Here are some of the more notable issues, there were others that I just didn't have time to mention...
I. the end of one side rail was bent on the corner and the paint was chipped off.
II. some of the bolts that tighten the rails in place were broken off at the bolt head.
III. the cover itself did not properly retract into the housing, it got 'stuck' in multiple places.
IV. the packaging was missing the shims - which are an absolute necessity!
V. the provided direction were not the same as the directions listed on BAK's website and were missing steps.
VI. the provided 'self-tapping' screws are very low quality and did NOT self-tap very well.
Also, I would recommend that BAK modify it's...
